Photo Friday: Abert’s Squirrel
Last May while visiting Rocky Mountain National Park, I stopped for lunch at a picnic area. While I was eating my sandwich I became fascinated with a this nearby Abert’s Squirrel who was quietly munching away pine cone after pine cone. Before I realized it, he had consumed about 10 pine cones in the span of just a few minutes. I couldn’t believe how fast he could put it away! Of course, I had to get a shot of him in action. I probably have 200 images of this squirrel and in that time he had completely eaten another 4 or 5 pine cones.
