Photo Friday: Badlands Before the Storm
On a warm summer evening as I was photographing Badlands National Park in South Dakota, I could hear thunder in the distance. As I continued to capture the landscape a patch of mammantus clouds began to creep closer. Generally associated with severe thunderstorms, I began to get my gear ready in case things turned bad and I had to leave quickly. Luckily, the wind shifted and the storm began to move away, just at the last light of day began to peak through the remaining clouds in the west illuminating the landscape.
