The autumn colors in Nebraska have been particularly brilliant this year. While I enjoy the wide sweeping landscapes, this year I decided to focus on some of the more abstract and intimate studies of the trees and leaves as they change into their fall glory. Today’s Photo Friday contains 5 of my favorite leaf studies from the past week in this Autumn Leaf Collection.

A leaf turned yellow and red in the autumn season is nestled in a old tree stump at DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge in eastern Nebraska. It almost looked as though a flame was creeping up the side of the old wood.
