Photo Friday: Prevailing Stillness

On this evening at DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge a quiet stillness prevailed. I wandered the shore of the lake looking for interesting patterns in the now melting ice. I found some interesting star shapes that had emerged from the recent thaws. Sunset was near and although it was cloudy, I was hoping for a little illumination of the clouds. After a while I gave up and begin leaving when a bit of sun broke free and I quickly set up again and captured this image.
