On a quiet evening in Yellowstone National Park I hiked out in the Middle Geyser area and witnessed the still water from the geysers reflected the fiery sunset in all directions. The sunset albeit brief in the scheme of the day seemed to last longer than usual as the oranges gave way to pinks and then purples. This was the image from near the end of the drama of sunset.

A young buffalo stops by the Gibbons River in Yellowstone National Park. This image was taken while a large herd of buffalo meandered through Yellowstone blocking traffic for miles. As there was no place to go it was a great opportunity to stop and photograph them as they passed. An interesting tidbit, Yellowstone is home to largest remaining herd of genetically pure bison. The majority of other buffalo have intermingled with cattle long ago.
